Barry Bonds - Can PR Help?
A great discussion is taking place over at Media Orchard about Barry Bonds and his need for a PR makeover. Ideas and suggestions are being thrown around in the comments section, so definitely drop by and throw your two cents in, or do it here.
Primary question: "His people call you tomorrow and offer a huge retainer, whatever it takes, to change his image. First off, would you accept, and secondly, if so, what are your best ideas for the PR image makeover."
Maybe an additional question is, can Bonds' image be made over at all?
I’d suggest it can’t be made over. Everyone has seen right through the initial attempt at a makeover with the hokey pile of crap Bonds On Bonds put out by that hokey pile of crap, ESPN. I also don’t feel he’s all that interested in an image makeover. He’s an a-hole, pure and simple. He’s accepted it, most of the country has, and I can’t wait until he leaves my favorite game.
Sure PR can help, or ever cure. Just look at our politicians. Bonds can get away with it. People want him to hit juiced gigantic home runs. Forget about the real heros of the game. Baseball must go on.
BONDS’ IMAGE HAS ONLY BEEN RUINED BY STUPID A$$ REPORTERS THAT HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO WITH THEIR LIVES. BARRY NEVER COULD HAVE USED THEM TO HIT HIS FIRST 500, AND EITHER WAY IT WOULDNT HAVE MATTERED. THE RUMOR HAS ONLY BEEN AROUND SINCE HE HIT 73. BONDS DID NOT USE STEROIDS TO HIT HIS HR’S OR BOOST HIS BA, AND IT HAS ONLY BEEN RUMORED SINCE JOSE CANSECO WAS A DUMBASS AND WROTE A BOOK TO DISPROVE ANY OTHER ACHEIVEMENTS THAT OTHER PLAYERS HAVE ACHIEVED. JOSE RUINED HIS CAREER, AND HE AND MANY OTHER REPORTERS ARE JUST LOOKING TO BRING HIM DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL. BONDS WILL ALWAYS BE VIEWED AS GREAT BY THE OPEN MINDED NON-BIAS PEOPLE OF OUR WORLD.
